This desk isn\'t just furniture, it’s a showpiece! Emulating the original 1940\'s Walt DisneyStudio desks designed by KEM Weber, this contemporary desk is, itself, a workof Disney art. Its sturdy hydraulicpositioning light table with disk is fully functional. Very little wear, just a few, light coffeemug heat rings, and a few gouges from moving.

The back of the desk\'s shelf is a particle bulletin board.Constructed of dense plywood with either Red Birch or Maple veneer with agorgeous honey finish. Its many drawers and shelves make it a fantastichome-office desk or memorabilia gallery. Key to drawer lock is lost. I bought itfrom Disney Artist, Harald Siepermann back in 2008. Harald worked on Mulan,Tarzan, The Emperor’s New Groove, Treasure Planet and Enchanted.

I’ve stored this desk and two others with hopes that mythree sons would get them someday. These desks don\'t sell very often because ifyou\'re lucky enough to get one, you hold on to it and cherish it. But now I need the space, and want to findthis heirloom a good home. KEM WEBER- Kem weber’s design style of POST ART DECO and MODERNSTREAMLINE DESIGN got the attention of Walt Disney who made weber theprinciple architect for the new Disney studios in burbank in the late thirties.Kem designed the whole look of the new studio, inclusive all the furniture andthe interior architecture. the very specific desks, like the animation desks,layout-, BG- and checking desks, as well as the director’s- and ink&paintdesks, are not just brilliant designed in their functionality, they lookstunning as well. Weber’s design influence became almost iconic with the Disneylook of the late 30s, he even developed a very special font to be usedthroughout the studio.

When the new Disney studio opened in December1994 his influence was still visible everywhere, in the interior architectureand furniture, and even the KEM WEBER FONTwas visible everywhere. Kem Weber’s furniture pieces from the old studio, likeall different desks and armchairs have become collector’s treasures all overthe animation community
