Up for your enjoyment is a beautiful Waltham pocket watch in a Gold Filled hunter case, 1890 model manufactured in the U.S.A. in the year 1898. This is encased in a fantastic high grade case with a floral, cabin, and bird design on both front and back. It is very difficult to find a nice hunter case that is in this nice of condition. This watch has been cleaned, serviced, and lubricated within the last month and it keeps time to within +/- 1 minute per day.

Case: Very little surface damage. The front and back have the same pretty bird and floral theme that is very attractive. There are minor scratches, none that go through the gold filling. There is some surface spots on the inner surfaces of the case lids, but very little brassing. The bezel has some surface spotting, but it isn\'t substantial. A nice case like this is becoming difficult to find. The two hinges on the rear are in good shape. The front cover opens to about 80 degrees when the crown is pressed. There is some damage to the hinge on the front that keeps the lid from fully closing on one side (see pictures), but this hardly detracts from the aesthetic quality of the case. The crystal is in tact though there are a few spots.
Dial: Great condition. There are no cracks or chips. A small surface line in the seconds recess.
Movement: Stem wind and stem set. A great example of late 19th century American watchmaking. The 15 jewel Waltham movement keeps excellent time (less than +/-1 minute/day error) and the back plate is in excellent aesthetic condition. A real pleasure to watch the balance wheel oscillate and hear this movement tick!
