WarriorHunter Tribal Traditional Singsing Sing Sing Festival Frontal Headgear collected from the Panga tribe. Item HB1D. This is a fineolder piece and it took a great deal of time to sew these hundreds of white minute beads onto a head band, the red fabric strings that close it around the head have decorations of cuscus fur.

You are buying the entirely handmade and hand sewn Tribal Chief BeadedHead Gear Band from the Highlands of Papua New Guinea, once worn on theforehead during special celebrations and events and seen on all the pictureshere. Chiefs and warriors wear this traditional handmade headband during afestival (which is often worn to support other decorations such as feathers,hair netting etc....) Tiny Beads or Shells are handsewn on. Item was collected a couple of decades ago. Itis an authentic piece obtained from a tribe in the area. You can see somewarriors wearing them on the additional photos.

The tribes or Irian Jaya, Indonesia and Papua New Guinea have lived inisolation for centuries due to the remoteness of their land and its difficultaccess. Their dress code has remained primitive for centuries. Traditionally,the men wear no other clothing apart from a penis sheath made of a cultivatedgourd and known locally as a “horim” and some simple ornamentation such asstring hair nets, bird of paradise feathers and necklaces with boar tusks orcowrie shells or other. On ceremonial days, it is another matter, they then usematerial from the surrounding jungles to create incredibly colorful and cleverbody adornments and costumes, as seen on the photos here as well.
