WESTMINSTER ABBEY DAME JEMIMA WILSON BRASS RUBBING
This replica brass is a copy of the one placed in Westminster Abbey, purchased in the 1980\'s in London on vacation. It is in its original box with historical information and instruction sheet. Create brass rubbings or use as a wall hanging; hardware included.

Dame Jemima Wilson was the wife of Sir Robert Thomas Wilson, a general in the British Army in the late 1700\'s. Due to his station in life, the two and their children were buried at Westminster and memorialized with brass rubbings. Dame Jemima Wilson wears a loose mantle over a wide-sleeved gown. With veiled head-dress and hair gathered into nets at the side of her face, she has a very modest appearance. There is also a dog at the base of the engraving.

In the 1970 -1980\'s, English churches began to foroffer the rubbing of brasses due to the damage they were causing. In 1972, the Church of England, in conjunction with the Monumental Brass Society, authorized the reproduction of famous or important brass facsimiles in a limited number. This is a limited reproduction in excellent condition, never used.
