This piece should be in a museum.This unit was operatedright up until the batteries died. The batteries were removed at that time andithas been kept safe, clean and dry ever since. All it needs is new batteries. See pics for the tube, it looks crisp and clean like the day it was made. This item is very hard to find, it is even difficult to find info on the internet about it. It is housed in a full copper box set in a wood case (see in pics).

*Based on research we believe this was built in 1932 but it could be older. It was not newer because we found an article from 1933 referencing the unit

Founded in New Jersey by Edward Weston in 1888, the company\'s innovations included the Weston standard cell, the first accurate portable voltmeters and ammeters, the first portable lightmeter, and many other electrical developments. Edward Weston (1850 - 1936) was one of the most significant persons in the history of electrical measuring instruments.The Robert W. Van Houten Library at the New Jersey Institute of Technology in Newark, New Jersey, maintains the Weston Museum and the Weston Rare Book Room, which contains over 100 rare books and the Edward Weston Papers.
