Christmas GREETING CARD, SIGNED FRANKLIN AND ELEANOR CIRCA 1920’S. This Christmas greeting card (heavy card stock), circa 1920’s, is signed in black ink: “Franklin and Eleanor”.There is the strong possibility that this card was sent by Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt to an acquaintance of theirs in Washington, D.C., either because of friendship and/or or as a matter of governmental etiquette. The greeting was found among papers, which included correspondence with dignitaries in Washington, D.C. and elsewhere, and had belonged to an individual who had held the position, in the 1920’s, of CHIEF NATIONAL BANK EXAMINER with the Federal Reserve, through the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency. He had a Departmental office in Washington. I believe it to be a card sent when he was Assistant Secretary to the Navy or in the years after when he returned to NY to practice law after his loss as VP in the 1920 election Card is 4 x 5 inches
