ORIGINAL 1911 RMSOLYMPIC / TITANICSWIMMING POOLTILE
This VERY RARE cream-colouredtile with a bright blue border is approx. 7\" (17cm) across and is from RMSOLYMPIC\'s swimming pool. It was part of a quantity purchased by William CharlesDann, who workedas a shipwright at Palmer\'s YardatJarrow, inthe North-East of England who dismantled the ship in 1936 and is offeredherewith a Certificate of Authenticity, which explains the tiles\'history.The tile is 3/4\" thick and weighs over 1kg!
The interior ofOLYMPIC was virtually identical to her ill-fated sister, TITANIC and some ofthe tiles have been recovered from the debris field.Just imagine the manyrich & famous who walked on thesetiles over OLYMPIC\'s 25 yearhistory!
Tileslikethisare extremely rare andhighly collectable.Manufactured byrenowned tile company Villeroy & Boch, it\'s in excellent, originalcondition andis ready to display. The scoring marks on the base were madeby theHarland & Wolff workers when they fitted the tiles to help themadhere to the floor surrounding the swimming pool.
