  • This drawing was an early concept idea for the 1973 Rotary Mid-Engine Aerovette design. It features intakes at the fender edges.
  • This original artwork is done with various media, Prismacolor pencils, pastels and color markers. They were created on semi-transparent velum paper that has a slightly darkened with age.
  • These drawings were stapled or tacked to boards to be reviewed by GM design executives like Bill Mitchell. As a result they have pin holes in the corners.
  • They may also have minor edge creases, pastel stains and dirt smudges.
  • The drawing page measure 9 x 12 inches and will be securely flat shipped with an authentication page describing the original purpose and approximate year the drawing was made. (see photo)

The Designer, Ronald Will as a teenager was a first place national winner in the GM Fisher Body Craftsman’s Guild model car design contest. After attending the Institute of Design, Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago, he was immediately hired by General Motors Styling (now called GM Design) and started his 40 year career as a Car Designer.
At GM he worked primarily in the Chevrolet 3 Corvette / Camaro/Monza/Vega design studio, but also worked in the Advance Chevrolet, Chevrolet 1, (Caprice, Monte Carlo), Advanced Oldsmobile, (Toronado and Cutlass) and in the Cadillac Studio on the Eldorado and Seville projects. At GM Mr. Will also designed the Chevy XP-898 concept car and worked on the 4 Rotor Aerovette show car. He worked for GM from 1966 to 1976, leaving to design his own car, the 3-Wheel Turbo Phantom.
In 1980 he was hired by the Subaru Technical Center in California, and as Product Planning and Design Manager was responsible for the original Forester and Outback design concepts. He retired in 2006.
