This listing is for an Antique, Willets Belleek Large Vase. The vase is hand painted and artist signed on the bottom \"M.R. Nicoll\" in red using the same color that was used to paint the roses. The vase has five large rose blooms on the front with buds, leaves and stems on a green, yellow and blue background. It\'s beautiful and an excellent display piece.The bottom is marked \"BELLEEK WILLETS\" with the snake hallmark. It also has written, faintly, in pencil \"5-4\" which could be an indication it was painted May 1904. The hallmark was used circa 1884 through 1909 when Willets Manufacturing Company closed it\'s production in Trenton, New Jersey.The vase measures 10 1/2\" high, 8\" in diameter and weighs 3 lbs 3.4 oz.The rim as seen in the photos has gold paint covering a rough edge. In my opinion, it appears to have been cut down and finished to remove a heavily damaged rim, factory or post factory. The vase has excellent resonance when tapped indicating there are no hidden cracks or hairlines. There is no crazing. The paint is superb with only 2-3 light marks that must be carefully hunted to find. The base has light shelf wear and is free of chips and fleabites. The interior is exceptionally clean with no signs of use, staining or mineral deposits.
