Good condition. Small scratches and dings, consistent with age and use.
History of maker:
Parentage undiscovered. Free by redemption, 2 May 1752. Livery, 1763. First mark entered as smallworker, 24 June 1763. Address: Noble Street, where Heal records him as haft and hiltmaker and goldsmith. Moved to (5) Oat Lane, 26 February 1765. Second and third marks, 5 October 1767. Fourth and fifth marks, 10 May 1769 (the latter incuse, sometimes found on small mounts such as wine-coaster parts). Appears as haftmaker, Oat Lane, Noble Street, in Parl. Report list 1773. Sixth mark (two sizes), 15 October 1779. Address: 5 Oat Lane. Seventh mark as plateworker (two sizes), 1 September 1784. His son Thomas apprenticed to him 6 August 1777. Died 6 September 1790, in Oat Lane.

US SHIPPING

We usually ship within one to two days of receiving cleared payment with the exception of larger items that need special boxes. We will combine shipping within reason depending on the size and fragility of the items. We typically ship smaller items USPS Priority Insured with tracking. Larger items are sent UPS or FedEx insured. Furniture and oversize freight items may take up to three weeks for delivery depending on location.

INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING

We do ship worldwide USPS Priority Insured with tracking. All items are declared and insured at the full purchase price, please do not ask for us to declare a lesser amount. All duties are the responsibility of the buyer. Higher value items may be shipped UPS or Priority Mail Express.
