Offered for sale is a wonderfulflat handle \"Master Butter Knife\" ina wonderful intricate, brite cut pattern manufactured by William GaleJr. & Co from N.Y.C.between the years1867and 1868.

The Master Butter knife has a beautifulbrite cut pattern on both sides of the blade. There are traces of the gold wash that was originallyon the blade. On the front side of the handle is a set of three ornate initials along with a brite cut pattern. The backside of thehandle has the manufacturers hallmark, .925 sterling and another touch mark which we believe is D & S in a triangle. The master butter knife is 7 1/8\" in length. The Master Butter Knifeis invery good used, antique condition.(The dark spots in the pictures are reflections from the cameraalso there are traces of the gold wash.)(see pictures for close ups)
