Rare William IV sterling silver gilt mounted cameo vinaigrette of oval form. The cover is set with a cameo depicting Dionysos, a son of Zeus, in a chariot drawn by a pair of Satyrs. The original curves of the shell were maintained creating a surface that is curvy. The base and sides are engraved with foliate scroll decoration with a raised foliate border and an engraved gold cartouche to the base. The silver gilt interior with finely pierced foliate scroll grille. In good condition with no damage. Nathaniel Mills, Birmingham, 1836. 1 15/16\" wide.
