William Spratling Taxco Mexico. Rare pair of 1950s silver and shell fish brooch:
$359.05

Rare pair of vintage mirror image William Spratling, Taxco, Mexican sterling silver and faux tortoiseshell brooches in the form of leaping fish. Circa 1950s.Measure approx 2.8 x 3 cm and weigh 7.1g each. The Spratling maker\'s mark is clearer on one of the brooches (the other is a little rubbed and has a rivet through the middle), plus eagle mark with number 30 on both. Pin and roll-over clasps are in working order, although the roll-over catch on one is slightly out of alignment and does not fully lock into the corresponding groove below. I believe the roll-over clasp on the other brooch may be a replacement (see photos). Will be supplied in the hard case shown in the photos. In good vintage condition with light surface marks in keeping with age and general use. Please take a look at all of the photos provided as they form a large part of my description. Happy to combine postage with other items if required. Thank you.
