Up for sale is an original Civil War U.S. Military handwritten telegram/telegraph signed by William Tecumseh Sherman. The content concerns \"the scamps that cut our telegraph lines\" and is dated 1864. This was purchased at an estate sale of a well- known and respected Civil War collector. I bought some beautiful Civil War images and this document. I do not have any more provenance than that, but I have no reason to believe that this is not the real thing. Prices were extremely high at this sale so I know that there were some knowledgable buyers there. Starting offer is lower than I paid -- but I believe in starting sales low.
