In Very Good condition, in a Good+ dust jacket. Clean text, though pages show light signs of use and age, with a few age-related spots and some light thumbing. Bookplate from previous owner at verso of front free end paper, causing waviness and wear to end paper and half title page. Cloth shows light rubbing at corners, spine ends and to gilt. Two-inch vertical bubble to cloth at about center right edge of front board. The dust jacket shows rubbing and soiling, wear along folds, chipping and tears at spine ends, tear at interior of rear spine fold, fading to spine. First American edition of this beloved classic, rare, in the original dust jacket.
