WONDERFUL OLD ANTIQUE NATIVE AMERICAN NAVAJO LODGE STYLE RUG WITH ROLLING LOGS :

Veryearly, very large,Navajo Lodge StyleRug, withRolling Logs overall.One log, far end right side, has a signature mark of the weaver, with a black extension on one arm of the log (shown in 10th photo). This piece is huge in size, and rare to find, measuring (113\")9 \' 5\" x (81\")6\' 9\". This rug came out of the estate ofa retired Doctor in southern Maine, and was one of many he and his wife collected back in the 50\'s and 60\'s during their southwest travels.It is ingreat condition for its age, with consistent overall wear as expected for a piece of this age -has several early, well-donerepairs (shown),scattered around the body of the piece, and one on one edge (shown) - all very hard to see unless you look closely - also has one small spot- one side only(shown). This is an absolutely wonderful early weaving, that shows beautifully and would be stunningin anysetting.It lays flat, is symmetrical, and has been cleaned. It is a very heavy weave, suitable for the floor, and weighs a ton! Photographed in natural light, both sides shown. Dates to around the 1930\'s, or possibly earlier. NO smoke Environment!
