This splendiditem isvery large being12inches in diameter andjust over6.25 inches high.Assayed in London,1816-year letter a. Maker isWilliam Sharpand it is of the utmost quality in every respect. Features a flush hinge too, always a sure sign of quality workmanship. Hallmarks aredeep and clear toside but not easy to photograph as they are in the decoration. Also marked to lid andhandle too.The weight is a hefty707 grams (22.73 troy ounces) and this piece is made of very thick gauge silver throughout.The overall condition isvery goodon this splendidobject.It is engravedwith initials(to the base of each foot!!!) and always has been.It sits onfourdelightful shell and paw feetfeet. It is of oval form. A VERY GOOD PIECE OF ANTIQUE SILVER INDEED.Would make a lovely present and is offered with !
