Hi, thanks for the interest in my work. These gnarly knots are from the Cape Fear Region of North Carolina. They are the remains of a southern pine tree after it has fallen and decayed. Because of the knots twisted, unusual shape, they are perfect for capturing these unique faces and bringing them to life.
Each piece is unique, signed and dated. This carving measures 9.5\" high and 2\" at its widest spot.
