UsAntiques4u-UKFor sale is extremely fine hand chased Persian decanter. This remarkable decanter is made from solid silver with a glass bottle inside so it is ready for use.
It was made by one of the best silversmiths. The maker is Bagher Parvaresh. The Parvaresh Family are known as one of the best family of Silversmiths in Persia. Their works are among the finest and highly collected.
The maker of this decanter - Bagher Parvaresh was also known to make pieces especially for the Shah of Persia. This shows you how high the quality of his work was, if he was making pieces for the king of his country!
The decanter has a breathtaking shape and form. It has been hand chased and cut with this fantastic open work design. There are three main scenes of men and woman and animals. The scenes are stunning. They tell a story.
The remainder of the decanter has been decorated with hand chased and openwork floral motifs.
The decanter has been hallmarked with 84 which represent silver purity of 875 grade. This was introduced into Persia in the early 1900\'s. It has also been signed with Bagher Parvaresh\'s signature hallmark.This is a spectacularly detailed decanter made by a master silversmith. The height of the decanter is 23.5cmIt weighs a very impressive 1278.5 grams including the glass bottle.However most of the weight is in the silver. If you look at the close up photos, in areas with the open work, you will see the silver is very very thick. So the majority of the weight is in the silver.
