World War II USAAF Electrically Heated Flight Suit circa 1943-1945 - Never used or worn!

This set includes nearly every piece needed to make a complete flight suit...only the heated gloves are missing. This suit was possibly issued, but never used or worn and still has the inspection tags stapled to at least two of the pieces. In total there are 5 pieces - 1 Coveralls (size X-Large/Short), 1 pair of Trousers/Overalls (size Medium Regular 38-40), 1 Jacket (size Large Regular), and 2 Shoe Inserts (size M for shoe sizes 7 1/2 to 8 1/2). This is the type F-3a Heated Flight suit worn by personnel riding in the back, un-heated section of planes, mostly bombers and flying fortresses. These would generally include the bombardiers and gunners. As they got themselves into position they would plug their suits into the plane\'s 24volt electrical system and then would be provided continuous electrically supplied heat to keep them nice and cozy in the freezing, un-heated sections of the planes, especially in the winter months.

Other than the wrinkles (which should be able to be ironed out with no problems), every piece of this flight suit looks like it did when it came out of the factory brand new, even down to the condition of the plugs and contacts. Although some of the contacts (but none of the plugs) show a small amount of corrosion, most of them are in pristine condition. The only reason for the corrosion is due to some humidity getting to them over the past 70+ years. This heated flight suit would be a perfect compliment to any World War II collection!
