This item is part of a group of military items purchased 18 years ago from the family of WWs 1&2 vets, Nelson Hall & Robert Hall (father/son) of Rochester, NY. It time to pas them on to the next steward. Please view my other listings from this group. Included here is group of 8 WW 1 marine uniform buttons by Scovill/Evans Co. w/personal note from family, photo #7. Here\'s a belt collection of WW 1 insignia and buttons from various countries and military combat units (especially British units) I believe this is a German Officer\'s belt and that Pvt. Hall probably assembled it.?? Note the info penned in on leather pouch and the 108 brass. He was in the 108th Inf of the 27th Div. Enclosed is a brief history the 27th Division in France. Please examine photos for more particulars. Many of the buttons have maker info i.e.: New Zealand, Gaunt of London, Egyptian Sphinx - HJ Paris, \"4\", Fonson, Brux. Shoulder/collar brass RF is Royal Fusiliers, Y & L is British York & Lancaster Inf. Rgt. who fought in the Battle of Somme, \"Over there Top\", where they had huge casualties. Pvt. Hall has noted \"over the top\" on his gas mask bag. THE MASK BAG IN PHOTO IS NOT PART OF THIS LISTING, listed separately. Looks like some items are missing from belt. All in very good shape and researchable if you know how. I\'m not that knowledgeable on Military research. A hard to find item from a vet who was involved in much fighting in France.
