Genuine, authentic, original hand signedWar vintage printed photograph ofLuftwaffe Generaloberst Hans-Jurgen Stumpff.
Stumpff was a highly decorated German Air Forcecommander, and represented the Luftwaffe at the Surrender of Germany on May 8 1945 at Karlshorst Germany.
Stumpff during WW2 was known as the Luftwaffe Commander of several Air Force Fleets, prominently Luftflotte 5 in the Battle of Britain and the Norwegian Campaign. In January 1944 he led Luftwaffe forces in the Defense of the Reich campaign against Allied bombing attacks.
Because of his air force commandsuccesses, he was awarded the Luftwaffe Pilot and Oberservers Badge in Gold with Diamonds.
And because of his extreme personal bravery andsuccessful military leadership in combat, Stumpff was awarded the Knights Cross on September 18, 1941! He was also mentionedone time in the Wehrmachbericht...to be mentioned 1 time was a high honor!
The 6 x 7 inch printed War vintage black and white photograph shows Stumpffin War conference with Luftwaffe staff in the Defense of the Reich and he has boldly signed the photo in green pencil. The foto has been carefully mounted on a black collectors album page, and except for minor bend in foto (barely can see ii) the foto is in very good/fine condition. Along with modern unsigned print of Stumpff (far left) at the May 8 1945 Surrender of Germany, with Generalfeldmarschall Keitel, center, and Kriegsmarine Generaladmiral von Friedeburg on far right and also one of Stumpff as shown in scan.
