WOOD BOX.This listing is for a vintage Azimuth Circle maritime equipment that comes in its original wooden box (box is in very good condition however, the top has heavy scratches & wear that I have not tried to clean up; 2 latch & knob closures on front & knobs turn to lock, sectioned base for holding the Azimuth circle with locking wood knobs & felt padding).There is a plaque mounted on the base front of the wooden box that reads: Bureau of Ships U.S. NavyAzimuth Circle Mark 3 Mod. 2; N 12062-1944,The Eastern Specialty Co., Philadelphia 40, PA.;Contract No. NXSX-66907. Inside is the black Azimuth Circlemarked: U.S. NavyAzimuth Circle Mark 3 Mod. 2 BU. Ships N 12062-1944; The Eastern Specialty Company, Phila. 40, Penna. The circlehas 10 to 350 degree rotate angle mirror leveling scale and line of sight indicator. The piece appears tobe in very good condition, painted over brass,mirror intact, level glass intact on both levels, etc. (as you can tell I have no idea what else to say orhow it works). The circle measures approx. 10-3/8\" in diameter and the boxmeasures approx. 11-1/2\" squareBY 4-1/2\" highand when packed SECURELY for shipping, it weighs10 pounds.(2920)
