This is an original steel pot British firemans helmet from WWII it is in good condition outside is missing most of the paint and has some pitting. Part of the sticker with the fire company\'s number are still there.looks like 11 there is another sticker that has NFS there is a red painted band around the helmet. The inside of the helmet is complete but the leather is brittle. the chin strap is broken and held together with a safety pin . This was brought back from great Briton a few years ago, where he picked it up in London. the NFS is for the national fire service created in 1941 and disbanded in 1948. The number 11 represents the fire force the wearer belonged to. The number 11 signifies he was a member of the north midland group, southend fire force. The red band means he was a leading fireman Which is the equivalent to a lieutenant in the US. Any questions please ask
