This listing is for a WWII period sterling silver USMS Maritime Service double eagle ring. The ring is in very good condition, but shows some natural age wear. This particular ring was owned by a former WWII Coast Guard officer. Size 11.5

TheUnited States Maritime Service (USMS) was established in 1938under the provisions of the Merchant Marine Act of 1936.The mission of the organization is to train people to become officers andcrew-members on merchant ships that form the United States Merchant Marine. Heavily utilized during World War II, the USMS has sincebeen largely dissolved and/or absorbed into other federal departments.
