Additional Information: A well carved Yoruba dance wand  with a kneeling figure nursing a child  and wearing a double ax in each hand .

Among the Yoruba people of Nigeria a complex combination of myth and religion explains history, categorizes natural phenomenon and establishes various deities. Shango, who was once a human King, became an orisha, a God. Shango who was the fourth King of Oyo-Ile. On this staff, the devotee carrying  the double axes in his hands and  another one  the top . Known as joined stone tools, these axes  symbolize shango\'s lightning and his dualities as creator and destroyer, and recalls the Shango symbol associated with thunder and lightening. Such  object s were used as  dance wands carried by devotees of the Shango, the Yoruba thunder god. \"Shango is a complex deity who creates and destroys, who through his powers causes lightning and flash and thunder to crash... “The dance wand is carried at the annual festival. International Shipping: We ship dozens of international orders each week, to customers on every continent except Antarctica! The shipping charges included in our listings are for U.S. orders. We offer uninsured USPS First Class airmail, insured Priority airmail, and insured Express airmail to most parts of the world, depending on the weight, volume, and value of an item.
