These prints are originals that were printed in Israel over 30 years ago at least. The album that they come in is new, and was especially made recently to house these wonderful prints!
Here you will find original prints of the following cities or places mentioned in the Bible: Jaffa, Jerusalem, David\'s Tower, Tiberias, Jericho, Safad, Western Wall, Rachel\'s Tomb,Hebron and Haifa. Some of the Biblical figures that appear in these drawings are: King David, the prophet Elijah, Angels, Rachel, & Jacob, Jonah, the Messiah, Jeremiah, Rebbi Meir Ba\'al Haness, Abraham & Isaac, and the prophet Elisha. Each illustration is based upon certain Biblical references drawn within each frame, and the appropriate verses mentioned in the Bible. WHO WAS ZEV RABAN?
Zeev Raban was considered to be one of the most important artists & designers who was active in Israel in the 1920\'s to 1940s. Ze\'ev acquired his reputation by his marvelous & unique designs that he made for the Bezalel School of arts in Jerusalem. In 1912, after meeting with Prof. Boris Schatz (founder of the Bezalel School), Raban started to work and teach at the Bezalel School. Raban designed most of the works in Bezalel until 1929. Though Raban was trained in Europe as a Sculptor and Architectural & Decorative art designer, he realized that there is not much sympathy for his European style nor did it fit the growing style of the newly emerging Hebrew-Jewish Arts. He thereby helped with Schatz to trailblaze the growing interest in real JEWISH art, based upon Biblical motifs. Thanks to him, Bezalel flourished and made itself a name in the annals of the creation of the fledgling state and helped bring about an awareness amongst Jews and non-Jews that the Jewish people are returning once more to their Land with all of their creative qualities!
