I\'m offering for your consideration a rare and exceptionally beautiful rainbow man pin made with exquisitely fine mosaic inlay. I\'m attributing to Anthony & Rita Edaakie. It\'s unsigned and unmarked for silver content which is usual for those times. There are many aspects of the style that appear to be their work and the piece is delicately inlaid with great detail and finesse. It\'s one of the most elegant pieces; extremely fine. This is a large pin at over 2-1/4\" high and (hard to measure) 1-1/2\" wide and weighs 11.9grams. It\'s in great condition with a possible tight hairline on one arm and a working locking rollover clasp. Tony was the youngest of the famous Edaakie brothers, who worked for CG Wallace and were collected by him and included in the Sotheby\'s sale of the C. G. Wallace collection. Tony was multi talented as were all the brothers. He worked in painting as well and he painted the mural of the De Anza Motel in Albuquerque which was owned and operated by C. G. Wallace.
Above you\'ll find a page from Sei\'s book \"Knifewing and Rainbow Man in Zuni Jewelry\" in which you can see their similar work, with the checkerboard on the outside, the shape of the face. the headdress, the silver work and feet and legs, all the same. This is an extraordinary quality in inlay and superbly executed. It has earned my highest recommendation. Highly collectible and completely delightful. This one is truly gorgeous!
