This bolo tie isvery nice Zuni (New Mexico) channel inlay Horse design that was made byEva Leekity. Her family, particularly Nora, is very well-known for making this small horse. Apparently, Eva also made the same small horse design. The inlay is nicely done and there are nochipped, cracked, or missing stones. Note that the cowrie shellEva used on the rump of the horse was a little bit too small andso sheused silver body filler to fill in the missing corner.She signed this bolo tie with an engraver \"Eva Leekity, Zuni, \'77\". This signature canjust be seen in the upper right-hand corner of the third photo below.

Thehorse is small (as are nearly all of the Leekity-produced horses): 2-1/2\"wideby nearly 2-1/4\" tall.It has a 1970s marked Bennett clasp for fastening the strap (see thethird photo below). The four-plyblack leather strap is original, is still soft and pliable,and showsjust a littlewear. The matching handmade, inlaid, dangling \"horse head\" tips are common on the Leekity horse bolo ties and are almost always present unless they have been removed for earrings (a not uncommon practice). They are each 3\"long and nicely complement the tie (see the second andfourth photos below). The tie and tips also havea dark, 1970s patina.
