I\'m offering a wonderful bear fetish necklace which is hand carved of black lip mother of pearl shell which is white on one side and black on the other, and each bear has tiny turquoise dot inlay eyes. Tiny jet and turquoise heishi and silver beads are used to string the bears together and the findings are sterling silver. There is included a matching pair of earrings for pierced ears. This amazing set was made by Debra Gasper and her husband Raymond Tsethlikai. Debra is the great granddaughter of Teddy Weahkee and Danny Lefthand, and the granddaughter of Edna Leki and the doughtier of Dinah Gasper and Peter Gasper, so her fetish skills go back through the most superb and renowned carvers in Zuni history. Ray has similar exceptional ancestors. He is the grandson of Willie and Irene Quam and the son of Vander Tsethlikai Sr and Janice Tsethlikai. He has won awards in the Gallup Inter tribal Indian Ceremonial and the Santa Fe Indian market and his work is in the collection of the Kennedy Museum of art, Ohio State University. This couple is represented in some of the best galleries as well as the books.

The necklace\'s circumference is about28-1/2\" (72.39 cm). The bear central to the necklace, is 5/8\" H (1.59 cm) x 1-1/8\" L (2.86 cm) and it hangs 1\" (2.54 cm) down from the necklace. The bears on the earrings measure:1/2\" H (1.27 cm) x 7/8\" L (2.22 cm) and the hanging length on the earrings is1-1/2\" (3.81 cm). The necklace has an attached sterling silver tag with the couple\'s hallmark. The findings on the necklace are sterling silver.

The bear fetishes represent healing and has curative powers. It also represents strength, adaptability and courage. He is the elder brother of the badger and assumes the western direction in a protective directional set. White bears are regarded as particularly potent healers.

This is a truly gorgeous statement which I\'ve been enjoying wearing. It is in like new vintage wearable and collectible condition. It\'s a breathtaking work of wearable art. It has my top recommendation. Always glorious and always elegant and always appropriate. A truly wonderful set!
