I\'m offering for your consideration the most rare example of an early Frank Vacit bolo which has turquoise only, in mosaic inlay, in Frank Vacit\'s famous Thunderbird figure, which is well documented. This is an exceptional example. I\'ve included in the pictures above a page and a half from a book which shows the form. The Sei book \"Hopi Bird and Sun Face in Zuni Jewelry\" well documents Frank Vacit\'s thunderbird form. Of course I\'ve priced it better than the pricing in that book and it\'s worth more than the bolos there because of the all-turquoise design and the matching tips as well as the size and condition. Note that the runners for the ties were hand made on the back and it was made before there were Bennett closures. This bolo has its original tips and tie.

The tips are original and beautiful, in great condition, measuring 3\" high. The inlaid tips alone are 2\" x 1\". The tie with the tips end to end is about 36\". The tie shows some age and fraying but can still be used. The bolo is measuring 2-3/4\" H x 1-5/16\" W. Condition is excellent vintage and collectible, with modest age related wear to the stones. The piece is unsigned and not marked for silver content, typical of those times, but this is guaranteed to be Frank Vacit\'s work and to be at least coin silver. This fine piece was probably made in the 1940\'s and bears an engraved RVXX mark which is a mark believed to be one C.G. Wallace\'s marks. Frank Vacit\'s work of this vintage and quality sells for thousands of dollars in the galleries.

Frank Vacit was born in 1915, lived till 1999, and worked from the 1930s. He was one of the most talented and great artists in Zuni history. His work resides in the best galleries and museums and he is discussed in every major work. His pieces fetch the highest prices, justifiably. His work is heavily represented in the CG Wallace Sotheby\'s catalog, and in C. G. Wallace\'s private collection.

This bolo is very beautiful and is highly collectible. This is a very rare masterpiece; a treasure that would suit all collections and is beautiful to wear.
