Welcome!

This is a signed pin and pendant by Zuni artist, Lili Shebola. I don\'t know her relationship to Dixon Shebola, the historically famous silversmith but she is most likely related to him. The design of this butterfly is quite unique and the work is top notch. The mosaic inlay is elaborate, complex and includes dot inlay as well as nugget set stones. It is a monarch butterfly and so realistic and very beautiful. It\'s surprising that such realistic detail is not something I\'ve seen before in Zuni inlay of butterflies. She use hand cut and buffed jet, mother of pearl, coral and turquoise and the inlay is astonishingly good. This is a signed piece with her name and tribe.

The pin measures 1 5/8\" (4.18 cm) by 1 ¼”(3.18 cm) and weighs 8 grams. It has a working rollover locking clasp and a nice sized bale so it can be work as a pendant or a pin.

This butterfly is a fine collector\'s piece, and so very pretty! Condition is excellent vintage. It always surprises me when sun a fabulous piece as this doesn\'t sell immediately and just gets overlooked. This is a magnificent work of art by an expert inlay artist. It\'s museum worthy. and it\'s delightful. You\'ll be thrilled if you snag it.

Attributions on many of the old pieces of Native American jewelry are sometimes a moving target. All the books have errors, so in addition to counterchecking, I have developed some expertise over the years and I do care about getting it right, so as more information comes to light I update my listings and also get in touch with my previous buyers, to inform them of any changes in attributions. I am sincerely committed to ongoing accuracy.

I am sorry to say I can no longer recommend ATADA nor buying from their members with one exception, and retract my previous endorsement of the group.

I request payment by PayPal in three days, but planned in advance of purchase, alternate payment methods and time payments can be arranged.

Everything I sell comes from my personal collection or is something that I would include in my personal collection. Most pieces are museum worthy and gallery suitable, sold to you at great pricing. I want you to be able to rely on me for top quality, superb items that are often unique and rare examples of old antique vintage southwest, indian, native american and fine gold and gemstones, whether you\'re starting a collection or adding to one, or want something great to wear or gift.
