I\'m offering for your consideration, a great old pair of earrings by the renowned Dan Simplicio. These are a great match with a buckle, a bolo currently in my store and with a pin that I sold last year and a ring this year; not matchy-matchy, but enough alike to be gorgeous together. Dan Simplicio\'s work is in the C.G.Wallace catalog, and every important collection, gallery and museum. Dan Simplicio was one of C. G. Wallace\'s favorite smiths. He was versatile and prolific. His work was prominently featured in the 1975 Sotheby\'s sale of the C. G. Wallace collection. Work from this collection is in the permanent collection of the Heard Museum in Phoenix. These earrings are museum quality pieces of his. Dan Simplicio is credited for having been the first to use natural nuggets in his work. The earrings are not signed nor marked for silver content. He rarely signed his work, but these earrings are typical of his style in every respect. They have beautiful natural turquoise nuggets which have aged to varying degrees so have a nicely variegated coloration, Mediterranean red branch coral, hand cut bezels, silver foliate framing, with his hand stamping.

These earrings measures 1 3/8\" (3.49 cm) tall x 1\" (2/54 cm) wide. The pair together weigh 17.88 grams. They are not signed nor marked for silver content, which is usual for those times. It is my attribution to Dan Simplicio based on extensive experience with his work and pictures in many books. They are sterling silver though unmarked. They are in excellent vintage, wearable and collectible condition. You can convert them to pierced using cold solder, laser. I\'d like them as Omega back or one could use a raindrop post that matches the size of the raindrops on the earrings using laser.

Dan Simplicio was one of the great master silversmiths in Zuni hstory who worked for C. G. Wallace and is well represented in the C. G. Wallace Sotheby\'s catalog. He was vastly talented and worked in many techniques and styles. Truly a great master, his work commands top prices and is in the best museums and galleries. These earrings have a lovely old patina which works beautifully against the colors and textures. I recommend this one for any collection. This is a museum quality piece by the renowned Dan Simplicio, whose work commands thousands of dollars, with justification. He is one of the most important Zuni artists from the CG Wallace period and his naturalistic free form style of work has become one hallmark of that era.

Your invoice will allow you to choose the shipping method.

International buyers pay actual shipping cost and are responsible for any customs fees their own countries may apply. I generally use Express International, which is tracked and insured, but can always consider Priority Mail International. if that is your preference. It\'s less expensive but not insured. To the UK and Canada, even First Class International can be used because it can be tracked to those countries. We can discuss it prior to purchase.

Returns will be accepted for 30 days after your receipt for any reason and without question. Please let me know if you would like to return something. Returns must be in the same condition they were shipped. If I make a significant mistake in a listing I\'ll always give you a full refund. Attributions on many of the old pieces of Native American jewelry are sometimes a moving target. All the books have errors, so in addition to counterchecking, I have developed some expertise over the years and I do care about getting it right, so as more information comes to light I update my listings and also get in touch with my previous buyers, to inform them of any changes in attributions.
