RARE 19TH C. TIN BABY NURSER
Great condition tin nurser - these were also used as invalid feeders. It isrepresentative of a tinsmith of great skill.Came from attic in Windham, Ct.The last owner had put his name on the bottom.
Base = 2 11/16 D. but you must be aware (see photo) itprojects slightly from bottom, this is a foot that the base of the body isskillfully soldered to. The bottomprojects about 1/10 \"I do not have calipers to be moreprecise.
Height = is 41/4\"
The cap isoriginal to it
The spout isfunctional.
It was never abused, came from the attic of a Federal house,wrapped in cloth which protected it well.That is why the condition is so nice.I have had it for decades, used to be a nurse and my husband consideredit an acceptable \"medical\" object for me.
