A beautiful antique French sterling silver needle case with a repousse mistletoe pattern both sides, edges & bottom smooth. This is a hard to find open end needle case, designed this way with no top and never had a top.
Hallmarked with 2 small guarantee sterling marks, a French hallmark and a maker\'s mark, one each side, tucked up next to the lip scroll. The marks are so miniscule that I cannot see the maker\'s mark clearly enough with a loupe to identify it, have never seen such teeny hallmarks. Also stamped DEPOSE on 1 edge.
Short split at top on 1 edge, see pics and very teeny tiny split at top of other edge. Otherwise in beautiful condition with no dents, repairs or damage. Please note that there are reflections happening on the edge pics particularily on the seam edge. Silver is a rich & bright color all over and there is no denting.
Measures approx. 3-3/8\" l. x 3/4\"+ w. x 3/16\" thick.
