A very pretty antique, Victorian / Edwardian, net lace sleeveless bodice blouse with fabulous heavily padded whitework embroidery on a wide squared edge collar and handmade Irish crochet lace work on collar and front net ruffle.   5 crochet ball buttons down the front with bottom snap at waist and elastic finish at bottom. The elastic is shot of course but easy to replace to your waist measurement.   Gorgeous ivory color embroidery of florals and foliage. Deep padded satin stitch, a french or Peking knot stitch and a seldom seen rolled caterpillar stitch (for lack of the correct name). 1-1/2\" to 2\" deep Irish handmade scalloped lace is very lovely all around the collar and ruffles in front. I think there is a paper remnant of a label (just barely there and I just found it in elastic stitch line) which would indicate this is a \'store bought\' blouse and not a handmade or \'homemade\' garment.   This would be consistent with the estate it came from, all of the antique clothing had store labels.

I have not hand soaked / washed this and leave that to the new owner when desired. It has not been laundered for some time and has slight yellowing from many decades of storage. Some storage spots on collar lace which will lift/lighten when soaked. It will lighten and brighten significantly I think in a good long oxi like soak and gentle hand wash.   The fabric and lace are healthy - but delicate given the age and nature of fabric. There are a few small pulls or breaks in the net collar beside embroidery work, pretty minor. Embroidery is always an area to handle very gently when hand washing, it becomes heavier than the cloth when wet-especially padded embroidery.    No tears or other issues that I can see, if I missed something it is minor.

Measures approximately 15-1/2\" shoulder edge to edge, a full 20\" pit to pit, neckline is 23\" around, front button length 13-1/2\", center back length 13-1/2\", armholes are oversized with approx. 19\" openings, bottom elastic opening 36\" around. Mannequin measures 32\"- 24\"- 33\".     It\'s hard to say what size this is, these antique lacy flowing bodice blouses were meant to be ruffled and gathered and full with numerous lingerie layers under them. I think it\'s probably a Small to Medium (not a large medium either) if one can use such generic terms. Judge size for yourself with the approximate measurements and a knowledge of Victorian styling, not returnable due to size.

Very pretty piece in hard to find great pre-owned condition, gorgeous detailing in the lace and embroidery work.
