this is a stunning antique black glass, wood, and bronze rosary/ prayer beads made late 19th century.the crucifix is very rare and made of inlaid ebony wood with bronze crucifix, Jesus, and inri scroll.it has a screw on the bottom that locks the box and it opens on a hinge exposing the relic inside.it is very rare and marked France on the back.the pendant in the middle of the beads is double sided and also very detailed, one side has a dimensional depiction of the Virgin Mary andthe other side is an ornate portrait of Jesus.the black beads are cut from glass and are in rectangle box shapes. the single beads are very ornate with many intricate cuts.all beads are held together byhand made obscure linked bronze chains.the piece has a nice patina from age measuring 18 1/4 inches long.in great shape.Thank you for visiting \"Dusty Treasures \" and please feel free to browse throughmy online store where you can find several more wonderful items similar to this.
