I believe this to be a wonderful piece of native American pottery.It is extremely primitive and made by hand completely.

My research indicates that it is made out of some form of the earth, it shows in the light very small glittery flecks that are part of the material used to make the pottery, it is extremely dense and heavy for its small size, a very durable piece. The backside of the piece reveals a uneven earth tone finish and there is a very dull form of paint that was used for the art work.

Measurements are: 7\" 3/4 inches to 7\" 15/16 inches in diameter depending on where you measure it. And 1\" 1/2 inches to 1\"3/4 inches tall, also depending on where you measure it.

**** CONDITION: overall in very good condition considering age though it does have one fracture line crack about 2 inches long from the top rim going to the center. and there are a lot of little imperfections expected in primitive made pottery pieces, also so where on the paint on the rim and in the center of the piece.*****

The date is unknown, though I suspect it to be around a Hundredtohundreds of years old.

**** I am not a appraiser of this type of art and am pricing it according to my belief in the this is a must have for a true primitive piece collector!!!!!!!!!
