ANTIQUE CHINESE or MONGOLIAN or TIBETAN ASIAN HAND KNOTTED PICTORIAL RUG
WITH THREE CHARACTERS INSCRIPTION / SIGNATURE
depicting a field yurt in the distance with banners on the top, and a Young Man in the ancient field military dress,
holding a sward in his left hand, sitting on the big stone and looking into the distance.
The colors are:
Indigo blue border and Three Characters inscription, beige background and beautifully hand knotted scene
in aqua blue, shades of green, maroon, brown, pale taupe - mauve...
The rug has full pile andfull fringe on each side.
Dated most likely back to the 1930\'s - Deco era.
Actual Measurements approx:
4\' 2 1/2\" x 2\" 1/2\" - not including fringe on each side 3\"Condition: Excellent antique condition with respect to its age, shows expected slight soiling, and has no worn spots,
no frying, no tears, no holes, no discoloration or bad odor.
The rug was displayed on the wall for many decades and was very well cared for.
The rug was well vacuumed, but was not professionally cleaned.
