Description:

A scarce antique early 19th Century Georgian gilt metal 8 draw miniature pocket telescope dating to circa 1820.

The telescope mechanism works well, the eight sections extending and collapsing easily, with clear optics.The gilt metal structure is enhanced with extremely fine engine turned decoration around the outer surface of the first section.

There are no makers marks visible, and it is presented in its original silk and velvet lined red leather covered case.

Condition:

In good antique condition, with clear optics, but there are chips to the very edge of the larger lens, not affecting the field of vision.Please see the images provided which complement this description.
