This is a USED/PRE-OWNED item.

This listing is for an antique Victorian 10K Gold Pin/Brooch that is detailed with a Large Open Face GARNET Gemstone as well as several small seed Pearls.
This item can be worn as a brooch, and there is a small hook on the back -perhaps to attach a lapel watch or locket on?
Or the hook can be used as pendant loop perhaps and this could be worn on a chain ?This item was recently purchased from an estate.

*the catch and straight pin are not Gold, they are base metal and later replacements.

SIGNED: The gold is not marked that I can find -the metal has been tested and tests to be 10K gold.
This item is personalized on the back with a name and a date.

DIMENSIONS: 1 1/8\" x 1\" at the largest points.

GEMSTONES: This item is detailed with an oval faceted Garnet gemstone that measures about 13mm x 10mm at the largest points -this is a natural pyrope garnet gemstone.
This item is also detailed with about 113 small seed pearls -each pearl is about 1.5mm -1.8mm in diameter.
Some of the pearls have chips and imperfections on them -see images.

MONOGRAMS: this item is personalized on the back with a name and the date of Oct. 5th \'69 (for 1869).

WEIGHT: 9.4 grams

CONDITION: The garnet is in good condition with no large chips that I can find.
there are a few small scratches/scuffs, nicks, wear and imperfections on the garnet in some areas -though not very large/deep or objectionable -see images.
The pearls have some chips on them -some dings, nicks, flakes, scratches/scuffs, wear and imperfections in some areas as well.
The pearls have several natural irregularities and imperfections in the nacre layer.The gold has some dings, dimples, nicks, scratches/scuffs, wear and imperfections in some areas.
The gold has patina, tarnish and discoloration in areas and could use a cleaning/touch up polish in some areas (if desired).

The straight pin part and the catch etc. are NOT gold -they are base metal and later replacements.
