This is amuseum-quality piece. An aesthetic movement period(1882) and styleEnglishhallmarked sterling silver teapot, of heavy gauge - 14 1/2 ounces/413 grams or13.3 troy ounces. It isdecorated with the most exquisite palm treepattern complemented with arched banding to the shoulder and lid, equallyattractive crest in the cartouche - a wreath with crown andlettering.It has a wooden handle and finial, which complements thecylindrical shape of the pot. It measures 7 1/4\" from handle to spout, 43/4\" tall, 4 1/4\" in diameter at the base. It isclearlyhallmarked; the lionpassant(sterling silver 94.6%), the city mark -leopard\'s head(London), the maker\'s markFEagainst ajoinedcirclebackground -Frederick Elkington, owner of famed Elkington& Co. Newhall Street in London, it bears the profile of Queen Victoriafacing left. In mint condition,there are no dings,no cracks, nodamage whatsoever to this132 year old teapot other than slight wood split on the handle.
