Description:

An antique late 19th Century Victorianpinchbeck brooch, beautifully decorated with embossed Rococo styledetail around the outer edge, with a row of half seed pearl around a central carved shell cameo of a lady. She is carved in very fine detail, especially to the hair.

The brooch has been historically adapted from a bracelet clasp, and mounted with a standard 'C' clasp to the back. The metal is not hallmarked and is likely pinchbeck, but remains bright with a fine gilt finish.

Condition:

In very good antique condition, showing very little signs of wear, with the bracelet catch visible from the side, but nevertheless a very careful adaptation. The cameo moves slightly within its recess at the centre, but is in no danger of falling out. Please see the images provided which complement this description.
