This is a scarce, unmarked and uniquely styled Victorian Era German Family Holy Bible from c1890!Fully raised leather embossed covers, in decent shape with central gilt title on front board, some weathering and wear to extremities. The spine has been taped over with binder\'s tape, and will allow for the book to be opened and read fluently. Many illustrations both in text and plates, some in color,some in gilt, some in B&W, and many of them being from the amazing Biblical artist Gustave DORE! Pages bright, clean and unmarked; internally this remains in great shape indeed. Gilt page edges with two working silver clasps. The pages are all present, and the Bible is complete, including the family pages & marriage certificate, which all remain bright and unused. The first grouping has been sloppily bound, resulting in some protrusion and residual edgewear; otherwise bound fine. Also features a nice silver swing clasp, fully functional. 11\" x 13\" x 3.75\".
