This is a stunningly gorgeous c1900 British Arts and Crafts sterling silver brooch, which is fluid and sinuous in design. It took me a long time to realise that the designs down the side of the mother-of-pearl cabochon are indeed fish. The silver is so fluid and this brooch has so much appeal.

I love the greenish colour of the turquoise too and it is a largish stone, having a diameter of approx. 70mm. The mother-of-pearl cabochon has a diameter of approx. 90mm. The way the turquoise seems suspended by these four strands of \"liquid\" silver is a lovely, lovely feature.

It tests as sterling silver but I cannot find any marks. I remember seeing this style of brooch in the past somewhere but I have had no luck in remembering where....it is of quality so wouldn\'t surprise me if it had Murrle Bennett connections perhaps?

It measures approx. 3cm x 2.2cm.
