B7-2 measures 5.5\" x 3.5\"The silks/satins/flannels were inserted in Tobacco packs from around 1906 up to around 1916. Flannel
Flags range in sizes from about 5.5” x 3.5” up to around 17” x 12” and some larger.
Most Flags are about 8.25 x 5.5” in size. Tobacco premiums included
a large variety of subject as well – silk Flags, animals, birds, Indian blankets,
butterflies, colleges, sports and movie people, and lots more!!These very colorful and vivid blankets or flannels were sometimes used to
make bedspreads, quilts, wall hangings, table covers and even robes and other
clothing by the wives and daughters of smokers. They were also a ploy used by theTobacco companies to entice women to smoke,These rugs are documented and priced in some large collectibles books.
These books are hard to find and tend to be pricey. And there are lots of varieties (border differences, background colors) for
all the rugs.

Condition of the Flags found tend to be fairly good. Some fraying along the borders is
common and does not detract if not too severe. They can also be found to have the original
paper tag (or parts of it) on the back; these do not detract from the appeal or price.
If they got wet in the past, color does bleed some and the rugs can get soiled. The rugs
will fade due to sun bleaching.
