A triptych (TRIP-tik; from the Greek adjective triptissos (\"three-fold\"), from tri, i.e., \"three\" and ptysso, i.e., \"to fold\" orptyx, i.e.,\"fold\") is a work of art (usually a panel painting) that is divided into three sections, or three carved panels that arehinged together andcan be folded closed.
In this lot we present antique Russian Christian iconostasis triptych miniature, made in 1884 in Moscow.The triptych is designer made, completely hand-made; made of Silver 84 with Enamel color fillings.The central icon represents Mary with the baby Jesus with two archangels on both sides (the side icons).The triptych is designed as a Russian Church allusion with the traditional domes, made to be worn as a pendant.The silversmith\'s initials are ФИ (Fyodor Ivanov?). The work is very detailed and highly-finished.
The triptych has normal wearing due time - patina, some scratches, some chips off the Enamel fillings - in goodantique condition. Please, review the photos attached.
