astunning silver & enamel butterfly pendant by Child & Child,withperfect enamels instunning blues, yellow andgreens the enamel is delicately translucent which reveals the exquisite veining of the wings whichare typical of the art nouveau period,it comes in its original fitted case and isofstunning quality and would have been sold through various high end retailers the like of liberty & co,connells of cheapside etc,there were several designers using this medium of design and decoration during this era,amongst those the most notable were,jessie m king,archibald knox,murrle bennett(all of whom produced designs for the Cymric & tudricranges of silver & pewter ware for liberty & co)charles horner and james fenton.thisranks along side those in both design and quality of manufacture.thependantmeasures 1.5\" top to bottom including the gold bale loop andismarked to the back with the flower cc mark for the maker,this mark is echoed on the back of the fitted case,(the case is a little scuffed as befits a much loved piece that has been worn again and again over the last century),the marks are clear.please feel free to ask any questions and i will reply within 24 hours,this is a genuinepiece and should not be mistaken for the unmarked copies and reproduction items offered on .postage is by special delivery in the u.k and airsure or signed for to international destinations.
