I buy vintage linens at local estate sales to pass them along to you, and I always look for vintage clothing and accessories. This is a vintage hat that I think dates from the 1950s. On the inside there is a label from Bonwit Teller. This is a black satin pillbox-type with pleated 3-4\" sides and a flat top; it has two small attached combs at the sides. On the left side of the top there is a 2\" rhinestone circle with rows of rhinestones, and from the center of this emerges a long, full dangling plume of mixed feathers! There are ostrich feathers and feathers clipped into triangles - it is 12\" long!! It\'s like a ponytail of lush feathers! Based on the side combs, the feather plume would go down the left back of the hat, but you can wear it how ever you want. Please use the zoom function to see all the details.This hat is in excellent condition, clean and undamaged. The only condition issue is that two rhinestones are missing. The plumes give this a wonderful dramatic look. Please also have a look at my other vintage hats - they are easy to ship together.
