Awesome drum mics for the money. I have used them pretty much exclusively these past couple years because of their tight punchy and crisp response and when I decided to upgrade the drum kit in my production studio I bought Nady DM-70's and DM-50's for the additional toms and floor toms. I really liked the range and the over all spacious yet tight, almost surgical focus that each mic in the array produced, that I bought two more sets and employed the Bass drum mics on the tympani (16x18 and 18x18) and individual 50's for the rototoms. I have now 14 strategically placed Nady drum mics on my recording kit and have a huge sonic pallet and more control than ever of the sonic panorama and clear focus on the entire spectrum. All for under $500 bucks! My clients don't say a word about my equipment choices or the cost of my mics but they constantly remark about the the drums sound in the mix. "I love the way the drums are so present and crisp yet not overpowering" or I love the sound of my kick drum in your studio" and my favorite "Wow the real drums sounds better than any drum machine or sampler I have heard" ~Angus James DaggerRead full review
I have actually been using it as a kick mic and it sound's great.

Great on snares and toms. Tight , clear and punchy. They record very well. 8-16 inch toms are great with these mics. You'll want a different mic for an 18 inch tom though.
